Razor Case Study - Living Fashion
Living Fashion is a long-established New Zealand grower and distributor of premium perennials, supplying an exclusive nationwide retail network.

Their reputation is built on careful curation, plant performance, and deep horticulture expertise.

The digital platform rebuild needed to reflect that same discipline.

Living Fashion's existing website had become dowdy.

Visually dated. Hard to update. Rich plant data existed - but it was locked away in a legacy system that wasn't built for modern digital experiences.

Seasonal availability, one of the most important decision-making factors for gardeners, was difficult to surface.

Finding the right plant - or the right stockist - took more effort than it should.

The risk wasn't failure. It was erosion: a brand known for quality being represented by a platform that no longer kept pace.

RAZOR treated this as an integrated mission, not a cosmetic redesign.

1. Cut Through the Stack

Rather than replacing the plant database, we built a custom WordPress layer that sits cleanly on top of it. Data remains centrally managed, while the front end delivers clarity, speed, and flexibility.

2. Re-Engineer How Information is Surfaced

We introduced a purpose-built plant catalogue with structured filtering - plant type, colour, growing conditions, and seasonality - designed for both enthusiasts and casual buyers.

A new seasonal availability field was engineered into the system, allowing Living Fashion to communicate when plants are in market, without adding admin overhead.

3. Design for Calm Authority

The visual system was deliberately restrained. Premium imagery. Refined typography. White space that lets the plants speak. The result is an experience that feels confident, not crowded.

4. Guide Users to the Right Outcome

An interactive stockist map was deployed to connect gardeners directly with nearby retailers - supporting Living Fashion’s partner-first model while reducing friction for end users.

Razor Case Study - Living Fashion
The new Living Fashion website now operates as a controlled, reliable digital system - not just a marketing surface.
  • A modern WordPress platform engineered for longevity
  • Seamless integration with a legacy plant database
  • Clear visibility of seasonal availability
  • A plant catalogue that rewards exploration without confusion
  • A stockist locator that supports retail partners at scale

Behind the scenes, complexity is contained. On the surface, everything feels simple.

This wasn't about adding features. It was about removing friction.

RAZOR’s role was to stabilise, translate, and deploy - ensuring Living Fashion’s expertise is communicated clearly, without asking the business to change how it already operates.

Precision over noise.

Structure over shortcuts.

Mission complete.
